MMC Research Lab

Welcome to the MMC Research Lab!

Our Mission

To enhance and promote good health and well-being through research, education and services in food science, nutrition and dietetics.

Working Within the Community

Working with local schools and communities to听incorporate various nutrition & lifestyle听intervention.听Collaborating听with various community partners.听Projects and research funded by听federal, state, and private grants & donations.

Community Nutrition on Campus

In partnership with Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, we听performedan听environmental scan of high sodium products sold at the university. We听have听collected听data on听sodium consumption and health behaviors听and are disseminating the research.

Student interns and dietetic interns are participating in outreach efforts and collecting data to听assess the students鈥 awareness and usage of the WIC satellite office and virtual services.

The MMC offers different workshops focusing on cancer, diabetes, and other nutritional听wellness topics. The research team collects data to help to assess any health related changes,听knowledge, and behavior with pretest, posttest, and follow up surveys.

Research on the reliability of different body composition tools such as Tanita and BodPod.

Study to correlate psychological and physiological factors such as dietary behaviors and stress听to the incidence and prevalence of obesity in young adults.

Comprehensive program to help the 快活林性息 community achieve their fitness and weight听management goals through educational workshops and expert support.
