Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences Accreditation Status: M.S. Speech-Language Pathology
The Master of Science (M.S.) education program in speech-language pathology {residential and distance education} at 快活林性息 is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard, #310, Rockville, MD 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700.
The program鈥檚 current accreditation cycle is for eight years, from April 1, 2021 through March 31, 2029.

Consumer Complaints: Conveying Consumer Complaints to the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA)
The Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) may be contacted by any individual who has concern against 快活林性息鈥檚 Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program regarding compliance with accreditation standards or if the program may have exhibited a violation of Code of Ethics established by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). Complaints against the program must meet specific criteria, and must also follow specific procedural requirements during the process of submission. The complainant鈥檚 burden of proof is a preponderance, or greater weight, of the evidence. These procedures do not prevent the CAA from considering a complaint against an accredited or candidate program if the program is involved in litigation or other actions by a third party.
Students of the Doctor of Audiology program (Au.D.) in the Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences must possess the capability to complete, with or without reasonable accommodations, the entire clinical curriculum.听听Students must have skills and attributes in five areas: sensation/observation, communication, motor strength and coordination, intellectual-cognitive sensory, and behavioral-social-comportment.听 听The attached document provides elaboration of Essential Functions and Technical Standards for the Doctor of Audiology at 快活林性息.
Once admitted to the department鈥檚 graduate programs, a student must attain classified graduate status, submit a department-approved plan of study (i.e., the doctoral鈥檚 degree formal program) to the graduate school for review and approval, satisfactorily complete all courses on the plan and pass a final, comprehensive examination. It is noted that for state licensure, and professional certification, additional graduate courses are taken as part of the course of study.

The Doctor of Audiology requires that students enroll and complete the听examination during their third year of academic studies.听 Most students register for the PRAXIS during the month of May of their third year (of study) just prior to beginning their fourth year CD776A.

Accessing the Department Graduate Au.D. Application
The Department accepts applications October 1st听to January 5th听annually.听
For additional information outside of the application dates, you will find a list of documents to have ready for October 1st听when applications open, for example transcripts, GRE scores, names and email addresses for recommenders.
