Asian Studies Minor

The Asian Studies Interdisciplinary Program oversees the .

The minor offers a broad range of courses to promote understanding of the cultures, languages, histories, and politics of societies and nations across Asia. These courses are offered by more than a dozen departments on campus. 

Program Description

The Asian Studies minor is designed for students with diverse academic backgrounds who are interested in supplementing their degree with courses in interdisciplinary Asian Studies. The minor offers a wide range of courses on the history, culture, language, society, economy, and politics of countries in East Asia, Central Asia, South Asia and Southeast Asia.

Students interested in the minor should consult with the Asian Studies advisor to develop an individualized program that best meets their interests and needs.

Program Requirements

Students are required to complete a minimum of 18 units, including at least 12 upper division units, from the following courses:
