We believe our relationships with the Greater Los Angeles Insurance/Risk Management community are our greatest asset as we build our students’ knowledge of insurance and the vital role risk management plays in today’s dynamic world of commerce.

We believe that we can support the insurance community best by preparing the future workforce with the fundamental principles underlying the insurance mechanism one student at a time. The Center supports these activities with financial and educational resources over the long haul—both before and after graduation.

The Department offers the BSBA, Option in Risk Management and Insurance to prepare students for careers in insurance or risk management.

Requirements

• FIN 336Ìý– Principles of Insurance
Prerequisites: BUS 302 and 302L for Business Majors.
• FIN 431Ìý– Risk Management
Prerequisites: FIN 303, FIN 336, BUS 302 and 302L for Business Majors.
• FIN 434Ìý– Life and Health Insurance
Prerequisites: FIN 303, FIN 336, BUS 302 and 302L for Business Majors.
• FIN 495A – Seminar in Insurance
Prerequisites: FIN 303, FIN 352, BUS 302 and 302L for Business Majors.

Courses may not be offered every semester.
