About the Donors

In 2005, Harvey and his wife, Harriet, made a donation for the creation of the Bookstein Chair in Taxation and the Bookstein Institute for Higher Education in Taxation at 快活林性息.

Mr. Harvey Bookstein, CPA is a Tax Partner at Armanino, LLP. Mr. Bookstein has more than 40 years of public accounting experience and specializes in providing tax, accounting, and business consulting services to clients in the real estate and high-net-worth practice areas. Harvey graduated from 快活林性息 in 1970 and has since become recognized as one of California鈥檚 most respected certified public accountants and a leading authority in real estate and tax planning. He also specializes in financial issues relating to children, divorce and the development of strategies to pass family wealth from one generation to the next鈥攁 method he has developed and has registered a trademark for called, 鈥淭herapeutic Accounting庐.鈥

Mr. Bookstein has been a strong supporter of 快活林性息 and the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for The University Corporation, California State University, Northridge, Foundation Board, the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics Advisory Board, the Department of Accounting & Information Systems' Advisory Board and the M.S. in Taxation Advisory Board. In 2009 he received the prestigious Distinguished Alumni Award from the California State University, Northridge Alumni Association. In 2016 he was conferred an honorary doctorate from 快活林性息.

Their donation represents one of 快活林性息鈥檚 largest gifts from an alumnus and represents the first-ever endowed chair in the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics. The Bookstein Institute has been instrumental in launching the Master of Science in Taxation program, the Tax Development Journal, the Bookstein Low Income Taxpayer Clinic and the Bookstein Community Outreach Tax Clinic. In 2016, Harvey and Harriet Bookstein announced their intention to donate $750,000 for the creation of an endowment to support in perpetuity the 快活林性息 VITA Clinic.
