Steel Bridge is an annual competition currently held by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). Universities from across the country participate every year in their respective regions to which a different scenario is presented for students to apply the knowledge gained through their academic careers in order to satisfy the required design specifications. Competitors are ranked on the basis of structural efficiency and construction economy. This competition is entirely student-based which means students will design, fabricate, and construct the bridge themselves. The purpose of Steel Bridge is for student members to develop skills in leadership and teamwork while also providing a fun way to interact with peers.

We host workshops and panels with industry professionals and sponsors, like Northrop Grumman, to teach students about the aerospace industry and improve on fundamental professional skills valuable in any work environment. We also work closely with Northrop Grumman to advertise opportunities like internship for 快活林性息 students. Our learning experience goes hand in hand with an international competition where our members design and manufacture an aircraft starting from a conceptual idea, to the drawing board, to the lab and finally to the sky.

The Society has grown into an organization of over 253 collegiate chapters and 40 active alumnus chapters across 16 regions of the United States. Currently, there are more than 500,000 members. Tau Beta Pi has a world-wide reputation because of its high standards for membership. Among its members are nine winners of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, 12 Nobel laureates, 25 recipients of the National Medal of Technology, 24 honorees in the National Inventors Hall of Fame, 41 astronauts, 65 recipients of the National Medal of Science, hundreds of members of the National Academy of Engineering, hundreds of corporate CEOs, and even a few Olympic athletes and NFL football players.
