Flexible Benefit Plans

础听Health Care Reimbursement Account (HCRA), or flexible spending account is a way to pay health care expenses with pre-tax dollars. The HCRA is administered by ASIFlex, a third party administrator.

A听Dependent听Care Reimbursement Account (DCRA),or flexible spending account is a way to pay dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars. The DCRA is administered by ASIFlex, a third party administrator.

FlexCash听is an optional benefit plan that allows you to waive medical and/or dental insurance coverage if you have other non-CSU coverage. 听This benefit provides a cash payment in lieu of your medical and/or dental insurance coverage. 听If eligible, you may select FlexCash in lieu of a medical plan, and still enroll in a dental plan for your and your dependents.

If you are an active employee eligible for, and elect coverage through the CSU in a CalPERS health plan, the听Tax Advantage听Premium Plan (TAPP)enables you to pay for听your medical insurance coverage on a pre-tax basis. 听Any such premiums for the CSU-sponsored听coverage you have selected will be deducted each听month from your salary before federal and state听income and Social Security/Medicare taxes are听calculated and deducted.


Voluntary Benefit Programs

Are you looking for additional protection for you and your family members at very competitive group rates? Standard Insurance Company (The Standard) provides employer paid Basic Life, Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D), Long Term Disability (LTD) insurance to听 eligible employees听of the California State University (The CSU). The CSU also offers eligible employees the opportunity to apply for Voluntary Life, Voluntary AD&D, Voluntary Long Term Disability, Critical Illness (CI) and Accident Insurance (AI). Auto and Home insurance is offered to all CSU employees, excluding Rehired Annuitants and Students, at a discounted rate through听California Casualty. Coverage for eligible dependents is available at an additional cost.

Discounted auto, home and renters insurance is offered exclusively to all CSU employees (excluding rehired annuitants and students) through California Casualty. Employees can save an average of over $500 and receive unique benefits like: free/waived deductible if your vehicle is hit/vandalized on campus, identity theft protection, 12-month rate lock guarantee, no charge personal property coverage up to $500 and payroll deduction available at no cost to active employees or monthly E-Z Pay Plans with skip payment options.

The听ARAG Group Legal Services Plancan help you feel as though you have your own "attorney on retainer". The Plan can cover a wide range of legal matters.

In the event of separation from employment or a reduction in timebase, California State University faculty and staff may be eligible for Unemployment Insurance (UI) as administered by the State Employment Development Department (EDD).听听听Information on eligibility and how to file an application for Unemployment Insurance (UI) can be found directly at:听.听

Nationwide is offering two benefit options for your pets. The insurance can cover your pet鈥檚 accidents, illnesses, and even preventive care and wellness services. Plans are available for dogs, cats, birds, small mammals and exotic (such as reptiles). To learn more about this plan and/or enroll, visit听听or call 877-738-7874.

CSU employees are eligible for a 10% tuition discount when you enroll your child(ren) at a KinderCare center. A number of programs are available including full, part-time and drop-in child care as well as school-age distance learning programs.
