International Second Bachelor鈥檚 Students

Beginning fall 2025, you can apply for admission to California State University, Northridge as an international second bachelor鈥檚 degree student in the following approved majors:

  • Deaf Studies
  • Health Administration
  • Public Health

With one of the degrees above, you鈥檙e likely to find a career in one of these high-demand fields and make a difference in your community.

How to Apply as a Second Bachelor's Student

If you are a post-baccalaureate international F-1 visa student who holds a recognized bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, you may pursue a program leading to a second bachelor's degree in the following 快活林性息 majors that are approved for the fall 2025 admission cycle:

  • Deaf Studies
  • Health Administration
  • Public Health

Please note: The major may not be the same as your previously awarded degree.

We encourage you to consult with a program coordinator to determine whether a second bachelor's degree or a better meets your needs.

快活林性息 application and document deadlines for international second bachelor's applicants are shown in the table below.

A second bachelor's degree applicant is admitted to 快活林性息 as a graduate student.聽Therefore, you are eligible to apply for a second bachelor鈥檚 degree if you meet all of the following admission requirements:

  1. Have a four-year baccalaureate degree (or equivalent)聽from a regionally accredited institution; and
  2. Be in good academic standing at the last college or university attended; and
  3. Have satisfied one of the following conditions:
    • Have a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 in all undergraduate units, or
    • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in the last 60 semester/90 quarter units from all post-secondary institutions, or
    • Hold an acceptable post-baccalaureate degree earned at a regionally accredited institution and:
      • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in all units attempted as an undergraduate, or
      • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in the last 60 semester/90 quarter units attempted from all post-secondary institutions attended.

快活林性息 will convert your international GPA when you apply for admission.

You must also apply for admission to one of the following approved, second bachelor's degree majors:

  • Deaf Studies
  • Health Administration
  • Public Health

If you are not pursuing one of the above approved majors, we encourage you to consult with a program coordinator to determine whether a second bachelor's degree or a better meets your needs.

As an international student, you'll need to assemble the following items to apply for admission:

  • Official transcripts.聽You will need to provide all official academic records, including certificates, degrees or diplomas in original language of issue. If you have studied in the U.S., you are are required to have the U.S. institution(s) send official transcript(s) directly to 快活林性息.
  • Official English translations聽of all academic records including certificates, degrees or diplomas.
  • Results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)聽or other acceptable test.
  • A credit or debit card.聽The $70 application fee is due at the time of submission and can only be paid by credit or debit card.
  • Financial affidavit and bank statement.聽Download and complete the聽聽and obtain a copy of your bank statement.
  • A copy of your聽passport photo page.

Create an account and complete your application on聽, the CSU's online application system.

Before submitting your application, you can聽upload*聽the following documents to the program materials section of Cal State Apply:

  • 颁辞尘辫濒别迟别诲听聽and bank statement
  • A copy of your passport photo page
  • Results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or other acceptable test
  • Unofficial transcripts (not required but helpful to speed the processing of your application)

Be sure to carefully review your information before submitting.

After you apply, watch for an email from our office with the information you'll need to activate your 快活林性息 Portal account and email. Once you've set up an account, you can check your application status.

  • You can expect updates regarding your admission decision to be available in 快活林性息 Portal in the weeks after you apply.
  • You will be notified of your admission status by the Office of International Admissions.

If you have been denied admission to the university, you may appeal this decision. For details and instructions to submit an appeal, please see聽.

You must submit official transcripts to the Office of International Admissions. Please submit:

  • All official academic records in original language of issue.聽Applicants who have studied in the U.S. are required to have the institution(s) in the U.S. send official transcript(s) directly to 快活林性息.
  • Official English translations聽of all academic records.

Paper transcripts must be received in sealed, unopened envelopes. Ask your previous school(s) to send your official transcripts to:

Admission Requirements

You will be considered for admission to 快活林性息 as an international second bachelor's degree student if:

  1. You meet the criteria in the聽"Review Admission Requirements and Eligibility" row above, and
  2. You have met our graduate-level English language requirement:

English Language Tests and Minimum Scores


Exception: The TOEFL or other English language proficiency exam is not required if you have:

  • Earned a bachelor's or master's degree from a college or university in the U.S.,聽or
  • Earned a bachelor's or master's degree from a college or university outside the U.S. where English is the principal language of instruction.

快活林性息 interprets "where English is the principal language of instruction" to mean that a school is located in a country where English is the daily medium of communication for the majority of residents, and that students receive academic instruction in English at all levels of education.

Countries currently meeting the above requirement are: Australia, Belize, Canada, England, Ireland, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, plus a few nations in the Commonwealth Caribbean (Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, and Trinidad and Tobago).
