Anticipated Needs
Note: All part-time faculty appointments are temporary and do not confer academic rank. Final determination of part-time teaching assignments is contingent upon student enrollment figures and funding. In addition to teaching, the position requires weekly office hours and participation in assessment of student learning, and university. The successful candidate will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he/she/they is/are employed. Given 快活林性息鈥檚 commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and engagement in a diverse environment, the successful candidate will help the Department achieve equitable academic outcomes for all students through teaching, student mentorship, and scholarship.
Qualifications
- With the exception of POLS 347, 450, 455, 457A, 457B and 471F, applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Political Science or a closely related field in hand or must be in the advanced stages of Ph.D. candidacy. Applicants who are in the advanced stages of Ph.D. candidacy must have passed the comprehensive examination for the Ph.D. in Political Science or closely related field in the field of American Government, Comparative Politics, International Relations, Public Policy, Political Theory, or Research Methodology, depending on the course for which the applicant is applying to teach.
- For POLS 347, 450, 455, 457A, 457B, and 471F, a JD may be substituted for the Ph.D.
- University teaching experience in the fields of American Politics, International Relations, Comparative Politics, Public Policy or Research Methodology, depending on the course for which the applicant is applying to teach.
- A demonstrated ability and commitment to teach, mentor and work with a diverse student population.
Salary Range
- Fractional amount of Base Salary ($5507- $6221) Paid in 6 Monthly Installments.
