More about听VCCC:听Valley Care Community Consortium (VCCC) was founded in 1995 by safety-net providers to address the lack of access and funding for low-income populations in Service Planning Area 2 (SPA2) of Los Angeles County. Recognizing the need for collaboration to improve health services and reduce disparities in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys, these providers formed听VCCC.
Following the Northridge earthquake in 1994,听VCCC听began meeting to plan and increase service access for low-income residents. They conducted focus groups with local health departments, community clinics, non-profit hospitals, LAUSD, and community organizations to identify common concerns. The goal was to focus on achievable projects with leadership support.
Today,听VCCC听partners with over 200 agencies, including community health clinics, Los Angeles County health departments, social service agencies, non-profit hospitals, universities, and community residents.

Dr Mirna Sawyer (Assoc. Prof in HSCI Department) is the new Vice President of the听VCCC听board and Dr. Jose Salazar who is the Director of Program Dev't at Tarzana Treatment Center, and听a lecturer in the HSCI Department, is the President and longtime member of the听VCCC听board.
