Under her leadership the school has spearheaded an equity-centered strategic plan, kicked off the Global Hispanic Serving Institution Equity Innovation Hub and received the Seal of Excelencia from Excelencia in Education for leadership, practice and success in serving Latinx students. Beck has a bachelor鈥檚 in psychology from the University of California, San Diego, a master鈥檚 from San Diego State University, and a Ph.D. in experimental psychology from the University of California, San Diego. She is a board member of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, the Coalition of Urban Serving Universities and the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Committee鈥檚 Board of Governors. -- Los Angeles Business Journal

Subramaniam is dean of the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics at California State Northridge. He was previously a professor of accounting at the University of Texas at Arlington College of Business. Subramaniam has an undergraduate degree in physics from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, an MBA from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and a Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. When it comes to making a difference, third prize winner Devin Huynh, a student at California State University-Northridge, starts with Eleven Percent, referring to both his business and his YouTube channel, which has more than 15,000 subscribers. Huynh's video, "Making a Difference from a Hobby," shows how his passion for creating his own media content developed into a full-fledged profession. Bob Suzuki, 88; Former Cal Poly President

Prior to coming to Cal Poly Pomona, Suzuki served as the dean of graduate studies and research at Cal State L.A. from 1981 to 1985 and vice president for academic affairs at CSU Northridge from 1985 to 1991. There, Suzuki worked to increase funding for instruction and research through grants, bolster diversity among faculty and raise the graduation rates of underrepresented students. -- Rafu Shimpo
